Eddie “THe Flying Dutchman” Van Keulen has swept all before him this week winning Tuesday’s stableford & Thursday’s mulligan competitions. This has seen the Dutchman firm as favourite for the Club’s C grade Championship where he is currently leading qualifier.

On Tuesday Eddie scored 36 points to beat Andy Phillips on 35. Dick Cleland scored 33 while Shawn Rayson made a welcome return scoring 31, & Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel sraped home in 30. The Mars Bar was no contest with Gordon “The Chook Man” Kakoschke scoring a humble 26 points.

On Thursday things were much tighter with 2 others joining the Dutchman in a 3-way tie on 19 points. The Dutchman prevailed on a countback with Dick Secomb runner up & Andy Phillips missing out. Dick Cleland finished with 18 after taking a 2 stroke penalty on the first hole. The remaining scores were of some concern with Peter Mengerson, the mercurial Bob Taylor & David “Jack” Webster all managing just 15. Gordon “The Chook Man” Kakoschke continued his poor form from Tuesday scoring just 13. The Mars Bar went to Andrew Hall who had another bad day.
