Kobi Breaks Through for First Win

Fourteen players arrived at the club for their favourite event, the stroke round. Club captain Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel is noted throughout the state for his innovative novelty competitions. He did not disappoint on Saturday,  adding a count putts competition on newly cored greens which provided plenty of interest.

Kobi Wenzel won the day with a net 73, his first win over 18 holes, 2 strokes clear of five players, David “Jack” Webster, David ‘Robbie” Robinson, Gus, colourful local identity Philip “Thomo” Thomson & Dick Cleland on 75. Jack got the golf ball on a count back.  Any Phillips, Andrew Spackman & Michael “Tickers” Tickner scored net 76, Chris “Critta” Waters 77, & John Robinson 79.

Two Mars Bars were issued with Eddie “The Flying Dutchman” receiving the senior version & Bradtke Stockman the junior. Both were tailed off.

John Robinson won the putting competition with 29 putts.
