Eddie “The Flying Dutchman” Van Keulen won today’s stableford with 38 points. Runner up was a much improved colourful local sporting identity Philip “Thomo” Thomson with 37. There was then a gap to Dick Cleland on 34 followed by Andy Phillips & Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel 33, the mercurial Bob Taylor 32, Neil Webster 30 just one ahead of brother David “Jack” on 29. The Mars Bar went to Chris “Critta” Waters with 25.
Thomo’s improvement augers well for his Jennison Cup match with Michael “Tickers” Tickner on Saturday. Thomo has had a haircut and Justine has added a subtle touch of colour. This is a promising sign as Thomo usually plays well when he is tarted up.
