Popular men’s vice captain, Mark “Mouldy” Millward won the 2018 Heritage Classic with 40 stableford points. Mouldy looked set for a score in the mid 40’s but looked a bit shaky on holes 16 & 17 before steadying himself on the final hole. Runner up was leading female Reva Cullen with 39 points. Bob Perry was third on a count back from Andy Spackman & Neville Kelly (Renmark) all finishing on 38. Danish visitor Paul Smedley was given a provisional handicap of 24 & finished with 43 points. Unfortunately Paul was ineligible for the main prize as his handicap was not official, but a great effort nonetheless. We all look forward to playing with Paul over the coming weeks as he has an extended stay in Burra.

Other scores were Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel 36; David Jack Webster 35; Gary Weymouth (Emu GC) 33; Trevor Maxted, Peter Seidel (Crystal Brook), colourful local sporting identity Philip “Thomo” Thomson, Chris “Critta” Waters 32; Roly Haggerty (Peterborough), David Norman (Peterborough) Alex O’Dea (Peterborough) 31; Dick Cleland, Kobi Wenzel 29; Klaus Heymann (Tarcowie) 26; Andrew Hall 25, Peter Brearley (Peterborough) 22; and the Mars Bar went to Luke Spackman with 21.
