Gus scored 40 points to Critta’s 39. Dick Cleland was third with 38 followed by David “Robbie” Robinson 37, colourful local identity Philip “Thomo” Thomson 36 & David “Jack” Webster 35. A disconsolate Thomo after choking yet again.

Perhaps the greatest disappointment was the extreme attack of choking experienced by Thomo. Thomo reached the turn with a massive 23 points but once again he failed to deliver on the homeward 9, scoring a mere 13. Another less sustained case of choking occurred when Critta had a 6 foot putt (1.8288 meters) for a birdie 3 & 5 points on 16 only to leave it 3 feet (0.9144 meters) short.
