On Saturday Dick won the 18 hole stableford event knocking out the fancied colourful local identity Philip “Thomo” Thomson in a count back. Both players scored 37 points. They finished just ahead of a phalanx of players on 36, being Andy Phillips, Michael “Tickers” Tickner & Eddie “The Flying Dutchman” Van Keulen. Dick Cleland & Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel both scored 35. Alas the remaining 2 players were not anywhere in contention. Despite some some prodigious striking of the ball Chris “Critta” Waters could only manage 26 points while young Kobi Wenzel did not have a good day finishing with 23.
