The first hole offers an easy start to the male golfer providing he keeps out the trees, especially to the right where the woods are quite heavy, but there is a line of trees up the left hand side as well. A well placed tee shot from the elevated tee gives the longer hitter an opportunity to reach the green in 2. Once again the green is protected by trees left and right as well as behind.

For the ladies the opening hole is a tough par 4, again with the need to respect the trees. The ladies tee is at the bottom of the hill from the clubhouse.
