Kobi Wenzel routed today’s field with an incredible 46 points. The handicapper reduced the 11 year old’s handicap by 2 strokes which is little comfort to the other members. In the group ahead Chris “Critta” Waters & Dick Cleland had a great battle which normally may have decided the winner but they fell well short. Critta got a great start but Dick’s greater fitness saw him catch Critta to finish second on a count back. Both scored 40 points, 6 behind the winner. Next best was Mark “Mouldy” Millward with 35, followed by Andrew Spackman 34, colourful local sporting identity Philip “Thomo” Thomson & Russell “Gus THe Good Guy” Wenzel 32, Michael “Tickers” Tickner & David “Jack” Webster 31, Andrew Phillips 25 with the Mars Bar going to Tarcowie visitor Klaus Heymann 21.

In a shock result, mulligan specialist Dick Secomb faltered over the closing stages of Thursday’s mulligans to finish with the Mars Bar. On the other hand the mercurial Bob Taylor maintained good form throughout to take the competition with 22 points. Runner up was Andrew Hall with 20 points. Andrew was the beneficiary of the early adoption of the 2020 handicap changes in our mulligan competitions.

Dick Cleland & Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel both scored 19 while David “Jack” Webster & Dick Secomb scored 16 with Jack avoiding the Mars Bar on a count back.

Chris “Critta Waters defeated Davis “Jack” Webster 2&1 to book a date in the Jennison Cup final with colourful local sporting identity Philip “Thomo” Thomson. The match was a see-saw affair with Jack gaining an early lead before Critta found his form and finished strongly.

On today’s form Critta would be favoured to take out the final but both players are chronically inconsistent so the betting is wide open.

Michael “Tickers” Tickner was unable to produce the form that saw him win last week & he went down to colourful local sporting identity Philip “Thomo” Thomson 5&4 in their semi final. Thomo played tough match play golf preventing Tickers from getting back into the game.

The other semi final between Chris “Critta” Waters & David “Jack” Webster will be played on Tuesday.
