Tickers Takes Early Lead in Championship Qualifying

Saturday saw the first round of qualifying for the Club Championships with Michael “Tickers” Tickner taking an early lead with 82. David “Jack” Webster is only 1 stroke back but then there is a 3 stroke gap to Pat Hallion. Pat won the handicap event of the day with a net 69 while Tickers & Jack were 1 back with net 70. Tickers was runner up on a count back.

Bob Taylor Demolishes Mulligan Field.

With the exception of Bob Taylor today’s mulligan scores were abysmal. Bob scored 20 points to win by 5, a huge margin for 9 holes. Runner up was Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel with just 15. Andy Phillips was third with 13, while Andrew Hall & Dick Secomb scored 12. Dick Cleland took the Mars Bar with 11.

Trevor Mmaxted Wins Hotly Contested ANZAC Cuo

Trevor Maxted & Kobi Wenzel tied with 41 stableford points in this year’s ANZAC Cup with Trevor prevailing on a count back. Hot on their heals was the inscutablle Dick Secomb on 40 points. These players were 5 points clear of the talented pair of Michael “Tickers” Tickner & Dick Cleland. At the other end of the field the unpredictable Mark “Mouldy” Millward took the Mars Bar with less than 1/2 the points of our 3rd place getter.

Andy Phillips scored 38 points to win today’s stab;;eford competition. Runner up was Dick Cleland with 36. The rest of the field was somewhat out of sorts with 33 the next best score.

Andrew Hall Makes it 3 Mulligans in a Row

The much improved Andrew Hall has won the 9 hole Mulligan competition for the third week in a row. Last week he scored 21 points to win by 7 points. This week he faced a stern challenge from the Wenzel twins but was up to the job scoring 21 points to the Wenzels’ 20. Kobi Wenzel beat Russell “Pop” Wenzel on a count back.

Tuesday: Pat Hallion Wins Easily

Pat Hallion had an easy win on Tuesday when the rest of the field failed to fire. Pat scored 38 points while runner up Kobi Wenzel scored 35. Eddie “The Flying Dutchman” Van Keulen suffered a massive turn around after finishing 2nd on Saturday by taking the Mars Bar with just 23 points.
