Dick Secomb won Saturday’s stableford with a meager score of 33 points. In fact Dick was the only player to score 30 points or more. I am trying to recall a catastrophic weather event on Saturday but the weather was somewhat benign.
The less said about the others the better so here are the full results:
Dick Cleland & Bill McMahon both scored 19 points in today’s mulligan competition, with Dick being successful on the count back. Mulligan specialist Dick Secomb finished third with 17 points after scrubbing the last hole & Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel scored 16 points. Trevor Maxted & David “Jack” Webster tied for last place with 14 points eack & Jack received the Mars Bar on a count back.
Only 4 players braved the inclement weather on Tuesday, but the weather had no affect on Andy Phillips who scored a magnificent 40 stableford points. The handicapper had no hesitation in deducting 1 stroke from Andy’s handicap.
The rest of the field were unable to match Andy’s brilliance with runner up Russell “Gud The Good Guy” Wenzel managing just 35 points, while colourful local identity Philip “Thomo” Thomson scored just 31 & Mars Bar recipient Michael “Tickers” Tickner scored 30.
David “Jack” Webster is proving more mercurial than Bob Taylor, oscillating between first and last on a regular basis. Jack managed just 24 stableford points well clear of 2nd last placegetter.
Scores were not brilliant but the steady Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel won with a handicap equaling 38 points. Runner up was Bob Perry who beat colourful local identity Philip “Thomo” Thomson on a count back. Both scored 36 points but Bob followed up a front nine of 11 with a back nine of 25. One more hole & Bob would have won.

Last week’s Mars Bar score would have won Thursday’s mulligan competition, such are the vagaries of small fields in golf.
This week;s winner was Peter Mengerson with 19 stableford points. A count back was required to find that the mercurial Bob Taylor was runner up while a 4-way tie for the Mars Bar required a count back before Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel was announced as the recipient.

Trevor Maxted scored 39 stableford points to defeat the unlucky Michael “Tickers” Tickner who finished with 38. David “Jack” Webster had a day best forgotten scoring just 24 points & receiving the Mars Bar.

In what can only be described as pathetic scoring, Andy Phillips & Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel headed the field with 33 stableford points each. One of these players won on a count back but who cares. The less said about the rest of the field the better.

Trevor Maxted scored 23 points to narrowly win, with 3 players, David “Jack” Webster, Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel & Dick Secomb finishing with 22 points. The Good Guy was runner up on a count back. Andy Phillips scored 21 & the mercurial Bob Taylor received the Mars Bar with 20 points. This is the highest score to ever receive the Mars Bar.
David “Jack” Webster scored a sizzling 41 points to easily win Tuesday’s stableford. Next best was Russell “Gus The Good Guy “ Wenzel with 36.
The mercurial Bob Taylor received the Mars Bar.
The handicapper has reduced Jack’s handicap to 12, while raising Klaus’s by 1 stroke.

Pat Hallion returned to his top form scoring 40 stableford points to win today’s competition. The handicapper did not see the funny side & docked Pat’s handicap 1 stroke. Runner up was Neil Webster with 37, also falling foul of the handicapper. Shawn “Sheep” Rayson made a welcome appearance after an extended absence & took home the Mars Bar.
