Hot Scores in Today’s Mulligans

With one exception all players scored well in today’s 9 hole mulligan event. Winner was David “Jack” Webster who is continuing his top form with 23 points.   Runner up was the much improved Dick Cleland with 21 on a count back from Peter Mengerson. Russell “Gus The Good guy” Wenzel, Matt McCauley & Andy Phillips all scored 20, followed by the mercurial Bob Taylor & Andrew Hall on 19, & Michael “Tickers” Tickner on 18. The odd man out was Gordon “The Chook Man” Kakoschke who only managed 11 points.

Gus The Good Guy Wins Consistecy Trophy

Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel won the Fisher Trophy for the most consistent mid week player for the winter season. Gus showed his consistency again today putting together a solid 37 points to finish runner up. Today’s results were P Thomson 40 points, Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel 37, the mercurial Bob Taylor & Michael “Tickers” Tickner 35, David “Jack” Webster 32, Andy Phillips & Dick Cleland 30, and the Mars Bar went to Neil Webster with 26.

Dick Cleland Turns it Around – At Last!

Serial Mars Bar recipient, Dick Cleland, finally returned to his old form, taking out Saturday’s Stableford with 37 points. Runner up was Chris “Critta” Waters with 36. Best of the rest was colourful local identity Phillip “Thomo” Thomson with 34, followed by David “Jack” Webster 33,Andy Phillips 32, Dick Secomb & Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel 30, Michael “Tickers” Tickner 29, Kobi Wenzel 26, Eddie “The Flying Dutchman” Van Keulen 20, while the Mars Bar went to Mark “Mouldy” Millward with just 19.

Andy Phillips scored a runaway win on Tuesday scoring an impressive 41 stableford points. Andy’s all round form was good but his touch with the putting was devastating. Runner up was the mercurial Bob Taylor with 39 followed by Chris “Critta” Waters 36, Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel 34, Michael “Tickkers” Tickner 30, Klaus Heymann (Tarcowie) 27, Eddie “The Flying Dutchman” Van Keulen 26, while Neil Webster & Dick Cleland finished at the bottom of the heap with 24. Dick got the Mars Bar on a count back.

David “Jack” Webster was too good for today’s mulligan field scoring a solid 21 points for 9 holes. Eddie “The Flying Dutchman’ Van Keulen and Dick Secomb both scored 19 points with the Dutchman taking 2nd on a count back. The mercurial Bob Taylor scored 18, Michael  “Tickers Tickner 16 and Dick Cleland took the Mars Bar for the second time in 2 days with 13 points.

A dramatic reversal of form has seen calls for a stewards inquiry after Gordon “The Chook Man” Kakoschke won the 9 hole mulligan event with 23 points. At his previous appearance he could only manage 16 points for 18 holes.

Runner up was the mercurial Bob Taylor who also scored 23 points, with The Chook Man prevailing on a count back. Other scores were David “Jack” Webster & Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel 19, Michael “”Tickers” Tickner, Dick Secomb & Eddie “The Flying Dutchman” Van Keulen 17, Andy Phillips 14, Trevor Maxted 13 & Andrew Hall took the Mars Bar with 10.

Saturday’s Results

A stroke competition was played in pleasant weather on Saturday. Stroke is not the most popular competition among members and the results tell us why.

The winner was Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel with a net 68. Runner up was Michael “Tickers” Tickner with net 72, followed by Philip “Thomo” Thomson net 74, Eddie “The Flying Dutchman” net 75, the mercurial Bob Taylor net 77, David “Jack” Webster net 78, Andy Phillips net 79, Matt Opperman net 80, Dick Cleland net 81, Bob Perry net 82. Mark “Mouldy” Millward & Kobi Wenzel both scored net 83 with Mouldy taking the Mars Bar on a count back.

The mercurial Bob Taylor won today’s 9 hole mulligan competition with a fine score of 22 points. Just behind on 21 points was Kobi Wenzel enjoying a day off school for the Royal Adelaide Show.

A group of 5 players were locked together on a serviceable score of 18. They were in count back order, Dick Cleland, Michael “Tickers” Tickner, David “Jack” Webster” Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel and Andy Phillips. Andrew Hall (score withheld) took the Mars Bar.

Neil Webster Shines as Chook Man Falters

Neil Webster followed up a steady font 9 of 18 points with an exceptional back 9 of 21 points to win comfortably with 39 stableford points on Tuesday. Runner up was Bob Taylor with 36, followed by colourful local identity Philip “Thomo” Thomson 35, Andy Phillips 34, David “Jack” Webster 33, Dick Cleland & Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel 32, Michael “Tickers” Tickner 29. Gordon “The Chook Man” Kakoschke took the Mars Bar (score withheld).

David “Jack” Webster won the Russell Nichols Memorial Trophy on Saturday with 40 points. Runner up was Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel with 38.
