
Defending Club Champion, Michael “Tickkers” Tickner looked like missing the playoffs this year and required an exceptional performance in the last round of qualifying to have a place in the finals. And he did just that becoming the only player to break 80 in the qualifying rounds Tickers had a 79 net 65 to take the honours in yesterday’s final qualifying round. A much improved Trevor Austin was runner up with a net 67 & Trevor gained a place in the C Grade finals.. Player of the month Eddie “The Flying Dutchman” Van Keulen was third with a net 68 followed by David “Robbie” Robinson & Chris “Critta” Waters net 69, Andy Phillips & David “Jack” Webster net 71, Dick Cleland & Mat Opperman net 73, colourful local identity Philip “Thomo” Thomson net 76, Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel net 77, Gordon “The Chook Man” Kakoschke net 79, Luke Spackman net 80 & Andy Spackman net 81. The Mars Bar went to Darryl Venning with a net 82.












David “Robbie” Robinson won Tuesday’s stableford comfortably with 37 points. It seems that Robbie is coming in to form at just the right time for the club championships with the final qualifying rounds this month. The rest of the field did not fare well with next best Andy Phillips on just 34 points. David “Jack” Webster, Dick Cleland, Gordon “The Chook Man” kakoschke & Chris “Critta” Waters all had 33. Dick, Gordon & Critta had excellent front nines but collapsed dramatically on the homeward nine with 13, 13 & 12 points respectively. There was also a tie for the Mars Bar with the mercurial Bob Taylor & Eddie “The Flying Dutchman’ Van Keulen both scoring 27. The Dutchman received the confectionery on a countback.
