The ladies summer golf competition came to a halt at the end of March. Unfortunately, the usual luncheon could not be held due to Covid-19 restrictions. Below are the winners and results:
Covid-19 measures introduced by the Government have meant that all golf courses in Australia should be closed.
The health of all members and visitors are of prime concern and the committee has acted quickly following the latest government announcements and advice from Golf Australia. The clubhouse was closed a week ago and will remain closed.
We have tried to keep the course open while meeting social distancing guidelines but given the tightening of these it is no longer possible. It was our aim to provide the opportunity for members to continue to get exercise. Unfortunately, according to the government, golf does not rate as an exercise.
We will open the course again once it is deemed safe to do so. In the meantime please keep safe.

Saturday’s stableford was won by visitor Keith Johns from Ingle Farm Golf Club with a score of 40 points. Best of the locals was Dick Secomb with 37 followed closely by Richard “Pickles” Matz and Kobi Wenzel on 36.
At the other end club captain Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel had a day best forgotten taking the confectionery, and being the only player not to achieve 31 points or better.

Volunteers are required to clean up the Burra Oval next Wednesday March 18, after the SA Stud Merino Field Days.
This activity has been undertaken by the Burra Golf Club for a number of years and is an important fundraiser.
Access to the site is available all day so if you can spare some time please come along with your rake, utility, trailer, tractor or front end loader and rake the straw into piles for removal.

Perfect conditions greeted the 13 teams who took to the course to play an ambrose competition for the inaugural Farmers Golf Day. Thanks must go to our wonderful sponsors for supporting the day. From their support we were able to hand out fantastic prizes. An auction of items donated was held after the golf with funds raised being donated towards the RFDS & KI Fire appeal.
