Summer Golf Starts

Ladies golf – Tuesday October 1st

The ladies started the summer stableford competition on Tuesday. Overall the scores were down on average considering the near perfect conditions. Sharyn Roberts & Judy Reilly shared the prizes.

  • Winner – Sharyn Roberts 32 points
  • Runner up – Peg Gebhardt 26 points on countback from Andrea Rowe
  • Judy Reilly – 23 points
  • Marj Wride – won the Mars bar
  • Extra Comp – Most 2 points was won by Judy Reilly with 9
  • Birdie Ball went to Sharyn Roberts (hole 16)
  • Chipout – Judy Reilly (hole 6)

Annual General Meeting

Thursday, October 31st

The A.G.M. will be held on Thursday October 31st   at. 8.00 p.m.  The committee have decided to open the bar at 7.30 p.m. for members to gather socially before the meeting. All members are encouraged to attend and take an active interest in your club. Please fill in the nomination form available at the Golf Club bar if you wish to be on the committee.

Ladies Winter golf winds up. Tuesday September 24th

The Par 3 course was played today for winter wind up. Only 4 ladies could play due to a few on holidays & work commitments.

The 20 holes played fairly tough today, in fact Par 4 may have been more suitable to the cards! Thanks to Gus Wenzel for setting up,the course.

The winner was Andrea Rowe, Gross 76, Nett 66. Runner Up was Sharyn Roberts 76/69. Other scores were Di Day 90/77.5 & Judy Reilly 98/80.

Andrea also collected the NTP on hole 8. Judy Reilly had a chip out on hole 14.

Gus The Good Guy Takes Out Mid Week Stableford

Russell “Gus The Good Guy” Wenzel played a steady round of golf scoring a handicap equalling 38 points, albeit that handicap was a generous 14. A count back was required to decide runner up with Chris “Critta” Waters edging out Dick Clelannd after both finished on 36. It was good to see colourful local identity, Philip “Tommo” Thomson show some improvement to get out of the 20s just.

Andy Phillips Wins Against Weak Opposition

Andy Phillips almost played to his handicap to win Saturday’s stableford scoring 37 points. Michael “Tickers” Tickner was 2nd with 35 while Pat Hallion on 31 was the only other player to score 30 or more. These 3 players were the only ones to break 100 off the stick.

Perfect Weather Brings Good Scores

The best golfing weather in almost 3 years saw some good scores at last.

Bob Taylor lead the way with a solid 40 stableford points. This was followed up by 38 points from in form Michael “Tickers” Tickner & also Chris “Critta” Waters. The good form shown by colourful local identity Philip “Tommo” Thomson on his return from injury has come to an end with him taking the Mars Bar with 28 points.
